  • Board Advisory Member, Motor Trade Association of South Australia (1985 – 1987)
  • Director, Churches of Christ Theological College (1999 – 2003)
  • Member, Academic Board University of Divinity (2013 – 2016)
  • Company Secretary, Stirling College (2004 – 2016)

John owned and operated businesses in Adelaide, South Australia for 15 years. Then, at 39, he commenced tertiary study in theology and ministry formation. He was ordained by Churches of Christ in Adelaide in 1997 and has served in ministry at Maylands (SA) and Box Hill (VIC). In 2003, he commenced work as registrar and tutor at Stirling College under the leadership of then Principal Merrill Kitchen. As Stirling (and the University of Divinity) grew, his role expanded to include coordinating coursework and representing Stirling on the University’s Learning and Teaching Committee.
John has an abiding passion for the study of the scriptures and theology, which was triggered by New Testament studies in the early nineties. He is still thrilled by the discovery and apprehension of beauty that emerges in the study of scripture.
John is a member of One Community Church of Christ and the Fellowship of Biblical Studies (Vic).
