This unit will provide students with skills in essay planning, academic paragraph writing, editing, proofreading, the research process and the APA format for referencing.

Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the academic essay elements and format;
- Critique and evaluate a relevant text for correct academic formatting;
- Articulate the process and essential steps of academic research;
- Show competence in using APA referencing styles.
