12,000 word Research Essay

Eligible students may apply to enrol in a 12,000-word research essay, either as a single subject enrolment, or as part of an Honours program, or as part of a graduate or postgraduate coursework program.

Students may elect to take the 12,000-word research essay in a single semester, or across two consecutive semesters.

Students must complete a ‘12,000-word research essay outline (in consultation with their supervisor)

The latest date for submission of your proposal is the census day of semester in which you intend to commence the essay.

Two copies of the 12,000-word research essay are to be handed in no later than the last day of the examination period of the semester in which it is due.

The essay is assessed by two examiners, neither of whom is the supervisor.

A 12,000-word research essay may be arranged in any of the following disciplines:

Biblical Studies (Old or New Testament)
Systematic Theology
Church History
Pastoral Studies
Ministry Studies
Religious Education
Christian Spirituality

 Bibliography selected with faculty advisor
